Thanksgiving Food Bag Outreach set to kick off in October

For the past several years the Wimbish Adventist School students have spearheaded a thriving outreach. Each year they are chauffeured throughout the neighborhoods surrounding the church and school. In teams they walk door to door distributing empty bags which will be filled by residents with selected food items listed on bag.

Over a period of two weeks (October 28 thru November 1st and November 4th thru November 8th) over 2000 bags will have food lists stapled to each bag and distributed. On Each Saturday, November 2nd and November 9th, filled bags will be picked up by volunteer church members. Each week all bags will be emptied and food items sorted into categories. Also any out of date items will be removed.

At the end of the process between 50 and 75 food bags filled with Thanksgiving favorites will be hand delivered by church members to those in need on November 23rd. This outreach is sure to bring smiles to both recipients, students and church members. We are looking forward to another successful kick off to the Christmas season!
